Female artists have historically been overlooked, relegated to the realm of botanical or decorative art, or forced to postpone and even abandon their art practice altogether for domestic duties.  Statistics still show underrepresentation in commercial galleries, prizes and auction results, however things are gradually changing and we are making our presence felt.
